High Ability

Students learn at different rates and may demonstrate cognitive strength in one or more subject areas. Keeping these children engaged is vital to their success in school. Our high ability program matches the academic needs of the student to the pace and depth of the curricula and instructional program.

What is a High Ability Student?

According to Indiana Code, a high ability student is one who “performs at, or shows the potential for performing at, an outstanding level of accomplishment in at least one domain when compared to other students of the same age, experience, or environment; and is characterized by exceptional gifts, talents, motivation, or interests.” (IC 20-36-1-3)
