VOICE LEVELS USED AT THE ELC

Your student will be requested to use these voice levels at different time through out the school day.

0 SILENCE: THE ONLY NOISE COMES FROM SOUNDS AROUND YOU. YOU MAKE NO SOUND.
1 PARTNER VOICE, WHISPERING: YOUR VOICE IS SO QUIET, THAT NO ONE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PERSON YOU ARE SPEAKING TO CAN HEAR YOU.
2 QUIET CONVERSATION: WHEN YOU SPEAK, ONLY THOSE IN YOUR SMALL GROUP CAN HEAR YOU. YOUR VOICE DOESN’T CARRY TO THE NEXT TABLE OR OTHER SIDE OF THE ROOM.
3 SPEAKER’S VOICE: THE VOICE YOU USE IS LOUD ENOUGH FOR THE PERSON IN THE BACK OF THE ROOM TO HEAR. THIS IS A LOUD SPEAKING VOICE THAT CAN ONLY BE HEARD IN YOUR CLASSROOM, NOT DOWN THE HALL.
4 OUTSIDE VOICE: THIS IS A VOICE YOU USE TO TALK TO A PERSON ACROSS THE PLAYGROUND. IT IS LOUD ENOUGH TO CARRY OVER THE SOUNDS OF OTHER PEOPLE WHO ARE LOUD.
